Tips for your wedding

When You Marry

There are many details that contribute to a good ceremony.
It is important that on your wedding day, your ceremony is perfect for you both, including your own vows, special poems and readings. You may wish to include other people to contribute. It can be traditional or contemporary, but it will be unique to you.

Where To Have Your Wedding

It’s all individual…
So you have decided to get married. Congratulations! Once you have booked your celebrant, the most important decision you have to make is where you will have your ceremony and your reception.

Some people like a home wedding, others a local park or beach. Most larger weddings are held at a function centre, as they are set up to help ensure that your reception goes smoothly. Some have gardens that make a lovely setting for your ceremony. This means that you and your guests don’t have to travel from the ceremony to the reception. Your guests can have a chat and a drink after the ceremony, while you and the bridal party are having photographs taken. Many restaurants also have a room that you can book for weddings.

There are many parks, reserves and gardens available for outdoor wedding ceremonies. Check with your local Council regarding any fees, and most importantly, make a booking, get written acknowledgement of the booking, and keep your receipt so as not to be disappointed on the day. In case of wet weather it is also advisable to have a “back up” venue.

Some couples may choose to marry at a place that has special meaning to them.

Give it careful consideration and have a look at a few places; also consider the time of the year, time of day and sunset times as well.

I am happy to travel to your chosen venue.

Even if your wedding is low-key, it may take more time and preparation than you think.

Your Wedding Day is like everything else in life: the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

Wedding Day Hints

  • Take your time – don’t rush – it’s nice to remember everything
  • Have a large umbrella in the wedding car in case of rain (most hire car companies should have these available)
  • Consider having seating available for older guests

Enjoy your day!
